About Me

Hi. Welcome to my page. I will let you know a little about myself. Currently I am a student at Lawrence University studying Biology and Neuroscience and will graduate in the year 2015. I went to Augustana College in Rock Island, IL originally but ended up transfering to Lawrence. It has been a great move, and the school is great. I participate in many groups and activities around campus during the year including:

  • Choir-soprano
  • Band- F. Horn
  • Kappa Kappa Gamma
  • theater

All of these activities and classes keep me very busy during the year. But it is great that I get to participate in so many great activities and orginizations. Some things people might not know about me:

  • I have a brother and sister
  • I have 3 dogs and a bird
  • I have a nephew and am his godmother

Hope you have enjoyed learning about me!

Something Interesting I learned

I came across this page and was inclined to read it: Sign_Language. Upon reading the page I learned quite a lot about American Sign Language. First is that Sign Languge is very different from spoken language, and is not at all similar to English.THe language has more in common with Japanese than with Englsih.Another thing is that ASL has its own grammer and syntax. There are so many things that matter when using Sign Language including hand position, facial expressions, and body language and position. All of these things can make a difference in how the signs are interpreted by the reciever. In a way these things are like the inflection and connotation of the voice in spoken language. Here is a another site on ASL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Sign_Language
